Prayers that God answers. Any examples?
by punkofnice inwhen i believed in god i tried not to pray for anything selfish.. after a while i began to think that a lot of things i was asking my imaginary friend in the sky for were selfish for some reason.. i do not ever remember a single thing i prayed for ever being answered.
if there was the appearance of an answer it was because i did mental gymnastics to make it fit the delusion that god had actually answered me.
there was never an obvious message/answer from god.

Still waiting for an answered prayer that can't be dismissed as wishful thinking, coincidence or confirmation bias.
In that case...can't you dismiss anything you like and call it wishful thinking, coincidence or confirmation bias. How does that prove a prayer WASN'T answered. Just because it didn't come up to someone elses standards of evidence. What sort of experiment would you set up for a prayer? Even if some were shown to work...they could still be put down to coincidence or the power of the mind to control our emotions. For example...when people pray and feel better....was the prayer answered? Or was it mind over matter? How would you ever prove it? You would have to do such a complex series of tests to rule everything out, I fear the expreriment would end up with no decisive result either way.
Don't get me wrong. I'm not aruguing that they were answered. I just don't see how anyone can claim without ANY doubt...that they weren't. How can anyone be so sure that someone elses prayers weren't answered in some way.
No one can prove or disprove a prayer result for someone else. You'll be waiting a LONG time if you want irrefutable proof. It's not going to happen here.

This tells me the government is definately trying to cause this problem and distract the public by feeding the already disgruntled public. Racism IS an issue. And there are plenty of issues where it could be applied. This case seems to be being sold to the public by the media as nothing more than racism. You have to ask...WHY?

The article says she was his cousin. And his lawyer said "it wasn't relevent to this case'.
If it is true and Z did abuse her for 10 years...do people still view Zimmerman as the innocent man he claims?
If he did beat his wife...do people still view him as 'just defending himself'?
If his family IS really racist as that article claims...do people still view this as a non racist act?
Would any of that change your view on what happened between Z and TM? Does not allowing evidence to be submitted in a case taint it?
What if we never heard TMs history of drugs, stealing and spray painting walls? How would you view him? And WHY has only that been admitted as evidence? How is his past more relevant that Zimmermans? Especially given that THIS might well be Zimmermans past. Whos is worse?
I really don't think this case is as clear cut as people would like to think it is. In fact. It leaves me with more questions than it answers.
